Caring for your furnace

Once a year, in the fall, it's important to have a licensed HVAC person inspect and clean your furnace, heat vents, air vents, pipes, ducts, blowers, thermostat, etc. Vacuum away dust and debris in the area around the furnace. Make sure that nothing obstructs air flow in or around your furnace. Do not store flammable liquids in the same room or near your furnace. Install a smoke detector wherever your furnace is located.
